DON'T PALM US OFF!

Visit http://www.zoo.org.au/ and sign the petition to legislate to label Palm oil (it is a very unhealthy fat) in food products.

Follow the link to 'Don't Palm Us Off' and cut and paste this answer in the message section.

Please legislate to label plam oil on all food products. I have the right to choose food products that won't destroy Orang-utan habitat. Please give me the choice!

As well as the Orangutans, it is also killing Elephants, Rhino's, Leopards and everything else that lives in the Borneo and Indonesian Rainforests.

Palm oil is usually labeled as 'vegetable oil', which it is not!

As well as food products, it is also in soaps, shampoos and toothpastes and many more household products.

Help save them and help save us. read more at http://www.zoo.org.au/

Thump Music, Victor Wooten. A painted box

It's been a while, so here's some stuff.

http://thumpmusic.com.au/ Had bass player extraordinaire, Victor Wooten, visit for a series of masterclasses with Q&A's.
It was awesome. Actually, extra awesome, for more than one reason.....
I recommend you go visit the thump music site.

Victor Wooten's http://victorwooten.com/
And Brubaker Guitars http://www.brubakerguitars.com/

They gave away that red Brubaker 'Brute' Bass there (the one on the stage).
Victor played 'Amazing Grace' on it.
Guess who won it??
Victor politley signed the headstock after the photo was taken for me :D

It's a mighty fine bass too!

At the start of the night I asked Victor if he could sign this bass body too, a bass I'm working on.

Helping the Orangutans

Don't want to preach, but YOU can help stop a catastrophe by simply signing and sending a pre written letter. It's as easy as going here:

Now some words from AOP:

"33,776 hectares of forest in Sumatra under threat
19/4/2009

Many of you may be aware of the current media coverage surrounding a proposal by timber giant, Asia Pulp & Paper, to clear 33,776 hectares of forest in Bukit Tigapuluh, Sumatra, Indonesia. This devastating proposal will severely endanger the 100 orangutans released in the park to date via the Bukit Tigapuluh Sumatran Orangutan Reintroduction Project – the only reintroduction site for this critically endangered species.

We are calling for immediate support on this issue. Please write letters to Asia Pulp & Paper executives requesting a withdrawal of its proposal - and encourage as many people as you can to do the same. To make it easy a letter template and the executives' contact details are available at http://www.orangutan.org.au/writetoapp

Your protest can make a difference!

Thank you for your help and support.

The Australian Orangutan Project "

His thoughts on this debarkle.

Now all you need to do is sign and send a pre-written letter...

Send one to each person if you can.

Love ya!

Remember, don't eat anything with palm oil, unless it's stated that it's from a sustainable crop. It is sometimes also wrongly named as 'vegetable oil'.
It makes you fat.

Smoochin' Wombats

What's that skip? No food there!''

Next time you're in Melbourne or visiting Victoria and such, why not head along to the Ballarat Wildlife and Reptile Park. http://www.wildlifepark.com.au/

I normally wouldn't do this. It was female if that makes it any better.

The End.

Jimminy Cricket!!

How big is this cricket?! The size of a mouse I guess, maybe a little bigger!
It even hissed at me like a cat does.

I was wondering what type of "cricket" it was so I googled ''Giant Cricket' and this huge bastard came up. My first thought when I saw the "cricket" in the backyard was "Weta?"
This one was titled 'Giant Weta'.
Now I'm thinking I should have held on to it because it has some similarities to this guy.
Weta's are from New Zealand, did he hitch a lift? Is it a Weta?
The last thing we want is a weta outbreak...
