Ha! I think I got the idea from a converstation you had with comments on your blog Nico.Hang on one minute I'll just go check...doo de do da doo la da da...hmmmmm....la,la, la...Oi! There we go, yep Bob asked the question "Do you think Popeye got his name because he's missing an eye?"
i am very glad that the comments page on my blog gave you incredible inspiration. let's have a cereal partay!!
Actually, I can't find it right now, but I'm looking through my old Popeye books because I know they've addressed his "injury" in the comics. And also, there's the obvious phalic representation of his nose and chin, but that's less than of an injury and more of a proud edifice. But it sure is nice to see the jolly ol' sailor when he could see things in 3-D. Happy times are here again.- trevor.
But in those old Paramount cartoons ( 'Popeye: The Shitty Years' I call them ), he sometimes opened both eyes, so I don't know what that's about.- trevor.
Ha cool Trev,Yeah sus that out for me, I want to know how it came about.I've got my own thoughts.Stay tuned because I'll be posting them real soon....
To answer your question about naked fairies, Hrym-dog:Twinklebelly's anatomy obeys the disciplines ( or stereotypes ) of many cartoon characters and fairies. For one, she's an animal that's been humanized. Or rather, a humanoid. And like so many before, she's given a shirt, maybe even shoes, but no pants. In fact, her wardrobe was a suggestion from a girl, who pointed out that all the cartoon characters who were pantsless were guys. And how many pictures of naked fairies have we seen? For every one that's tastefully covered, there's easily ten that are nude, but not anatomically correct. But that doesn't stop Manx from trying to get between her thighs. Dirty bugger.- trevor.
